Fabric Futures

Textile & Design-Focused Immersive STEAM education program.

Fabric Futures offers hands-on workshops at the intersection of textiles, design, and technology. Middle and High-School aged students will approach topics from a multidisciplinary perspective, working on projects through a combination of applied STEM and craft techniques, while exploring the historical and social significance of materials and processes. The combination of textiles and electronics present a unique opportunity to offer hands-on and computational thinking without sitting in front of a screen all day. Steeped in the history of technology, textiles, and labor, our programming aims to teach the importance of embracing emerging technology while drawing from the knowledge of long developed forms and traditions.
